First attempt at an Ident

As i started my first attempt to making my Ident, i soon found out it wasn't at all as easy as i thought it would be. My First idea was having the Ident very similar to my logo, as the channels identity and look would flow as it tied in with the logo. My idea was to have the logo plain and black and white coming down from the top of the page, then all the other sections to the logo e.g the colour, the textures, and other features such as the contrasts and smoke from underneath the logo would come together on the page, as if the text was "fusing' together out of nothing. I like the idea of things 'fusing' together as it ties in with my idea of the music channel having a 'fusion' of different music types/genres. As i have never made an animation before, i chose to make it in photoshop as that looked the best option for me as it looked quite straight forward. I soon found out that this method was particularly tricky because you had to keep copying over the same image and very carefully rearrange everything on the page in different positions ever so slightly so that it all flowed when you clicked play, which was quite difficult to do smoothly. I also discovered it took particularly long to make a very short clip. It took me quite a while to make my First attempt at an animation, and the end product i wasn't happy with as it lasted only about 5 seconds and the brief was to make an animation from 30-60 seconds long. Another criticism i had with it was i hadn't done it precise enough to make it run smoothly.Another thing i didn't like about my first attempt for an ident , is that i used a soundtrack from a pop song i particularly liked. However this contradicts the theme of my channel, which is a variety of different types and genres, viewers may get the impression that it is a pop only music channel which Isn't what i am aiming for. To solve this issue in my second attempt i am going to include various short snippets from a range of genres to get my idea across more clearly.
I do however, like the way animating in photoshop has a more traditional type of animating with an almost stop motion kind of look. I have decided to keep with the program of photoshop, however rethink my Ident to make it more interesting, run more smoothly, and run for a longer space of time.
