Second Attempt at an Ident

To make my second attempt, I decided to change my idea a little. My idea here was to incorporate the initial animation i made of the words and colours ect fusing together, with  a range of clips from artists and bands along with the audio that came with it. My idea was to have short clips flashing in and out transitioning from one another as if someone is changing the channel between music genres yet also combining my logo fading in an out throughout the duration of the clips to ultimately the full logo coming together at the end. I did this process in both photoshop animation and premier pro. However i did come across a few issues while doing so. Firstly i found that the sound was just jumping from one song to another, in an annoyingly abrupt kind of fashion. To fix this i discovered some audio transitions  that would blend the sound a little better so that they transitioned in an out, rather than a straight switch.
After sorting this, i decided i still wasn't happy with my now 30second ident. Except i couldn't put my finger on why i wasn't happy with it. So i thought it best to go out and get a second opinion off some of my friends.
After telling my friends about the music channel and how the idea was to represent multiple types of music, their initial reaction was that the distinction between the different genre's needs to be much more clearer and that the way i did it was that all the genres kind of blended into one and they couldn't tell which was which as the songs i had chosen were all fairly similar. This feedback was very helpful to me as it made me suddenly realise i had only chosen songs that i liked, thats why they all kind of blended together. I had not properly researched the types of genre's and the popular artists from those genres as i should have done. The artists i had chosen were all fairy pop/chart music and quite similar.
In response to this i then conducted some further research and i then realised that 'contrast is key' to get my idea across properly i had to make sure the tracks i chose opposed eachother so strikingly that it was very obvious to the viewer that this channel was one of variety and gave something for everyone.
